HtmlMaker - add-in

Thank you very much for getting the htmlmaker Add-in for Excel. Html Maker was developed as an Excel Addin for displaying an Excel worksheet for the message Board @ Mr.Excel.com and The Office Experts.com

What is transfered over to HMTL?
You can convert your worksheet via 'Convert Sheet to HTML' menu.

The Workbook name, Excel Version, Operating system & Sheet Name. This is useful in determining syntax and OS differences for getting a applicable response from other board users.

Users can now select from the Dropdown menu (NameBox) to get the formula of a particular cell to show in the FormulaBar. Just like in Excel.

The displayed formula can be copied to the clipboard via a [copy] button located on the right side of the Top Menu.The formula is copied to the clipboard.

Cell background & Font colour formats

Cell alignments (horizontal / vertical)

Cell merging

Cell formulas - are also available by selecting the Dropdownname box similar to Excel.

The left image is captured by Print Screen.
The following image is generated by HtmlMaker.

To see the formula in the cells just click on the cells hyperlink or click the Name box of following image.

FAQ : frequently asked questions

When I select the Add-in from Excel I get the error message 'Could not load an object because it is not available on this machine'
The Form requires the ietimer.ocx. This used to be shipped with Internet Explorer but this is no longer the case. It's available at http://activex.microsoft.com/controls/iexplorer/x86/ietimer.cab (After download it has to be registered with regsvr32 or Right click and select - Install)
As an another way, please access following link. ieTimer Install will be started automatically. To check IeTimer control has been inatalled in your PC, click here
When I select the Add-in from Excel I get the error message: 'Can't find project or library'
In the VBA Editor, please select Tools > References. Look for "Missing" next to any references and then Deselect this.
I cannnot paste the generated HTML code into the message box of IE.
This problem occur when IE 5.5 is used. Please use HtmlMaker 2.30 and later. 'View Source' function has been added. Please use it and copy the code manually.

1. About this Addin

------------------------

The intent of this Addin is to make Q & A easier for the boards users. " A PICTURE IS WORTH A 1000 WORDS! "

The image of an Excel worksheet is changed into a table which uses HTML tags. The generated image of the

table and the code are displayed in Internet Explorer automatically. This can be copied into the Clipboard

and then pasted into the BB reply form by clicking on the button @ the bottom of the generated form.

3. How to Install this Add-in

Save the Addin to your Addin Directory. Typical Dir locations are:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Library

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\AddIns

If you do not know where your Addin Dir is then; Do a search for *.xla you should be able to get

your Addins path from the results.

Now in Excel on the Main Toolbar select	Tools > Addins....This Addin should be Listed there.

If it is not then your will need to either manually browse & load in OR Close & Reopen Excel.

10. Known problems:

i) Java Script is used to show formulas, a message box is not started when the characters ['] or ["] are

inputted into one cell. This was documented On 2002-05-17 12:42, by "Jack in the UK"

ii) As this was developed on/with different Platforms and Operating systems there could be problems when

loading using a different version of excel eg. Dutch version, XP OS. In cases like this then....

A) Try seeing if any Project references are missing. While in the VBA Editor select> Tools > References

In the dialog see if there are any boxes with "Missing" next to it.

- If so then this is the file(s) to search for. You will have to search via the browse button.

If you don't know the name of the file then send me a picture of it...but this should be

distinguishable from the description @ the bottom (it's just that sometimes the full file name is cut off)

- If all is OK above then ......contact one of us.

iii) Known problems(i) was solved at version 2.00 later.
